Autokraft Electrical and Diesel Managing Director Matt Rowe on his way to a MAX-SAFE install.

Safety systems on heavy vehicles are only as effective as the way they are installed, integrated, and supported.

In New Zealand, that process sits with Autokraft Electrical and Diesel, who are responsible for supplying, installing, and supporting MAX-SAFE systems.

Autokraft’s Role in New Zealand

Autokraft Electrical and Diesel is an authorised MAX-SAFE distributor in New Zealand, responsible for supplying, installing, and supporting MAX-SAFE systems across the country.

Since beginning its relationship in 2019, Autokraft has worked closely with SGESCO-MAX, with regular communication and ongoing collaboration.

In practice, the role goes beyond supply. Autokraft manages the importation and distribution of systems nationwide, coordinates installations, provides technical support, and works alongside a network of installers and end users across New Zealand.

With teams across sales, technical support, and installation, Autokraft is closely involved in how MAX-SAFE systems are installed and supported throughout New Zealand.

Anti-Rollaway Systems in Practice

Autokraft Electrical and Diesel installs, on average, around 15 MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake Systems each month across New Zealand.

The MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway System is designed to prevent uncontrolled vehicle movement by monitoring key inputs and automatically applying the brake if a rollaway risk is detected.

That level of uptake reflects steady demand from companies looking to strengthen safety across their fleets. Installations come through a mix of direct enquiries, proactive engagement, and growing awareness of the system in the market.

Because of the role these systems play, installation quality is crucial. If a system isn’t installed correctly, it may not operate when it is needed.

Working With Installers Across New Zealand

MAX-SAFE systems are installed and supported across New Zealand through a network of trained installers operating across both the North and South Islands.

Autokraft works closely with this network, providing guidance where needed. Installers are carefully selected to maintain a consistent standard, with collaboration on more complex jobs when required.

Installations are also carried out directly, with work taking place nationwide and travel for specific projects where required.

This approach keeps involvement across both installation and support, while ensuring systems are installed correctly throughout the country.

Final Thought

MAX-SAFE systems are designed to reduce risk and improve safety across heavy vehicle operations.
Their effectiveness comes down to how they are installed, supported, and managed in practice.

That’s where the difference is made.

“We’re proud of what we’re building with MAX-SAFE in New Zealand. We’ve worked hard to become a team customers can rely on, and that comes down to consistently delivering quality installations and the support behind them.”
