Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 06/05/2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and to purchases, enquiries, bookings, quotes, products and services provided by Autokraft Electrical & Diesel Limited.
By using this website, placing an order, requesting a quote, booking a service or purchasing products or services from us, you agree to these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other applicable New Zealand law.
1. About Autokraft Electrical & Diesel
Autokraft Electrical & Diesel is based in Palmerston North, New Zealand. We provide automotive, diesel, auto electrical, air conditioning, diagnostics, WOF, servicing, 4×4 accessory, installation and vehicle safety system services.
We also supply selected products through our website, including electrical components, diesel parts, 4WD accessories and other automotive products.
2. Website use
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not use this website in a way that may damage, disable or interfere with the website, our systems, or another person’s use of the website.
We do our best to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but errors may occur. We may update product information, pricing, availability, services, policies and these terms at any time without notice.
3. Product information
We make reasonable efforts to ensure product descriptions, images, specifications and pricing are accurate. Product images are for reference only and may differ slightly from the product supplied.
Some products may require vehicle-specific checks before purchase or installation. It is your responsibility to ensure a product is suitable for your vehicle, intended use and any relevant legal or compliance requirements, unless we have confirmed suitability for you in writing.
Where a product requires professional installation, we recommend installation by a suitably qualified technician. Incorrect installation may affect product performance, safety, warranty coverage or vehicle compliance.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices are shown in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.
We may change prices at any time. If a product or service has been listed at an incorrect price due to an error, we may cancel the order or contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price.
Payment must be received before online orders are dispatched, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which may include major credit and debit cards, bank transfer, Afterpay and Google Pay.
For workshop services, installation work, fleet work or quoted jobs, payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking, quote or invoice. We may require a deposit before ordering parts, booking installation time or beginning work.
5. Quotes and estimates
Any quote or estimate we provide is based on the information available at the time.
A quote is valid for the period stated on the quote. If no period is stated, the quote is valid for 14 days from the date issued.
Additional parts, labour, freight, diagnostic time or repair work may be required once a vehicle or product is inspected. If additional work is needed, we will contact you for approval before proceeding where practical.
Quotes may change if product costs, exchange rates, freight costs, supplier pricing, availability or job requirements change before the work is confirmed.
6. Online orders
When you place an order through our website, you will receive an order confirmation by email. This confirms we have received your order, but it does not guarantee stock availability.
We may cancel or refund an order if the product is unavailable, listed incorrectly, unable to be supplied, or if we identify an issue with the order details or payment.
If we need to contact you about your order and cannot reach you within a reasonable time, we may delay, cancel or refund the order.
7. Product availability and special orders
Product availability may change without notice. Some products may be ordered from local or overseas suppliers and may be subject to supplier lead times, freight delays, import delays or backorders. If an item is available on backorder, we will keep you updated and dispatch it once new stock arrives.
Special-order products, imported products, electrical products, fitted products, opened products or products ordered specifically for your vehicle may not be eligible for return due to change of mind, unless we agree otherwise or the product is faulty or your rights under New Zealand law apply.
8. Shipping and delivery
We ship online orders New Zealand-wide unless stated otherwise. Most orders arrive within 3–5 working days, but delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary depending on stock availability, courier delays, supplier delays, public holidays, rural delivery, oversized items or other factors outside our control.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and the size or weight of your order. Bulky, heavy, oversized, special-order or freight-only items may require a separate shipping quote. If your cart says no shipping options are available, please contact us and we will help arrange a suitable shipping option.
We do not currently offer standard international shipping. If you are outside New Zealand and are interested in a specific product, please contact us and we can let you know whether we are able to help.
Risk in products passes to you once the order has been delivered to the address you provided. Please ensure your delivery details are correct. We are not responsible for delays or failed deliveries caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible with your order details and photos of the packaging and product.
9. Workshop collection and click & collect
Where collection from our workshop is available, you can select pickup at checkout and collect your order from our Palmerston North workshop once it is ready. We will contact you by email or phone when your order is available for collection.
Please wait for confirmation before coming to collect your order. Some items may need to be transferred, ordered in, prepared or checked before collection.
Orders must be collected within a reasonable time. If an order is not collected, we may contact you to arrange collection, shipping, cancellation or storage arrangements.
10. Returns and refunds
Please choose carefully. We are not required to provide a refund or exchange if you simply change your mind, choose the wrong product, find the product cheaper elsewhere, or no longer need the product.
We may accept returns for change of mind or incorrectly ordered products at our discretion, provided you contact us within 7 days of receiving your order and the product is unused, in original packaging and in resalable condition. Return freight costs are the customer’s responsibility unless we agree otherwise.
We do not usually accept change-of-mind returns for special-order items, imported items, electrical items, installed or fitted products, opened products, used products, clearance items, or products ordered specifically for your vehicle.
If a product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of delivery, and include photos where possible. If a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not meet your rights under New Zealand law, we may arrange repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate remedy depending on the issue.
Refunds will usually be processed using the original payment method once the returned product has been received and assessed.
11. Workshop bookings and services
Workshop bookings are subject to availability. We may need to reschedule a booking due to staff availability, parts delays, supplier delays, urgent work, equipment issues or other circumstances.
Please let us know as early as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule a booking.
For diagnostics, inspections and repair work, we may need time to assess the vehicle before confirming the cause of a fault, parts required, labour required or final cost. Diagnostic fees may apply even if you choose not to proceed with repairs.
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your vehicle, known faults, prior repairs, modifications, warning lights, symptoms and any relevant history.
12. Customer-supplied parts
We may agree to fit customer-supplied parts at our discretion.
Where we fit customer-supplied parts, we are not responsible for the quality, suitability, safety, legality, fitment, performance or warranty of those parts. Labour charges may still apply if the part is incorrect, faulty, unsuitable or cannot be fitted.
Any warranty for customer-supplied parts must be handled by you directly with the supplier of those parts.
13. Installation and fitment
Some products require professional installation, vehicle-specific checks, calibration, configuration or testing.
Where we install products, we will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill. You must follow any operating instructions, maintenance requirements and safety guidance provided by us or the product manufacturer.
Vehicle modifications, accessories and safety systems may affect vehicle use, compliance, insurance, manufacturer warranties or certification requirements. Where relevant, it is your responsibility to ensure your vehicle remains compliant for its intended use, unless we have specifically agreed in writing to manage this for you.
14. MAX-SAFE systems and vehicle safety products
Autokraft Electrical & Diesel is an authorised New Zealand distributor for MAX-SAFE systems.
MAX-SAFE and other vehicle safety systems are designed to reduce risk and support safer vehicle operation. They do not replace safe driving, operator training, workplace procedures, vehicle maintenance or legal compliance.
System performance may depend on correct installation, vehicle condition, operating environment, driver behaviour, maintenance, calibration, configuration and system use.
We can assist with product selection, supply, installation coordination, technical support and after-sales service. Any recommendations we provide are based on the information available to us at the time.
15. Warranties
Products may be covered by manufacturer or supplier warranties. Warranty terms, timeframes and exclusions may vary by product.
Warranty claims may require proof of purchase, inspection, photos, testing, return of the product, supplier assessment or manufacturer approval.
Warranties may not cover damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, accident damage, neglect, modification, unauthorised repair, normal wear and tear, incorrect maintenance, environmental damage or use outside the manufacturer’s instructions.
For products installed by Autokraft Electrical & Diesel, any workmanship concerns should be raised with us as soon as possible so we can assess the issue.
16. Consumer rights
If you are purchasing products or services as a consumer, you have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and other New Zealand laws.
Nothing in these terms is intended to limit or exclude any rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
If you are purchasing products or services for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 may not apply where it is lawful for us to contract out of it. Any business-to-business terms may be confirmed in our quote, invoice, trade account terms or written agreement.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Autokraft Electrical & Diesel is not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of opportunity, vehicle downtime, or losses caused by delays, supplier issues, incorrect information provided by you, incorrect use, lack of maintenance or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where our liability cannot be excluded, our liability will be limited to the remedies required under applicable New Zealand law.

This website may include links to third-party websites or information from suppliers and manufacturers. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of third-party websites.
